Also, because it was released in December it missed out on placing high in the yearly charts. If all its sales were in last year, it would have been in the top 3 best selling albums. If this year, it would be first (or second to Dido maybe.)

The single has dropped to 15 in the midweeks, which means it will settle at around 13-16. Sad news, but seeing as his album has risen to 14, we have cause to celebrate!

The album is going to soar past 1.5m by the end of Summer!

That's my thought too. The fact that so many people are still buying the album is just wonderful. Now that is a reflection on his success! :cheer:
And the new ad from Asda, showing clips from the 3 singles may be helping too. (Though people don't know what theyre missing, by not getting to hear hey ya! ;-) )

This news is amazing. I would much rather prefer to have the album doing well, even if it means that sales of the single will suffer as a consequence. However, I am trying to find the single version with Hey Ya on it for my niece, and all the shops near me are sold out - they must have had less single this time around.

I noticed that ASDA has it on offer at £8.87 - sorry if anyone else has posted this. I saw three people yesterday with it in their basket! :cheer:

I also heard on Capital that in the midweeks Jamelia was only 5th, and I am really surprised at this as I think it is a brilliant single but, like Will, it is the third single from her album.

I had the same thought - it doesn't worry me though whether he does or doesn't release another single from the album. Can't really see the problem - it won't sell brilliantly, but BMG are right to get as many sales of the album as possible. The more people who buy and hear FC the better - they are more than likely going to buy the next album as well.

Anyway isn't the Mercury Awards for people who are not massive artists? Most of the nominees have very small sales. Yes it would have been nice but I think that now Will is a huge star and they don't want to give it to a huge star. The Ivor Novello was great though.

Just had a look too! FC is an absolutely classic album - I think think it will just keep on selling and selling - that's why I don't really want a follow up too soon (much as I'm longing for one!) as I believe this could overshadow FC.

On the other hand it might work the opposite way, as it seems that FNO has sold more since FC! What do other people think?

I was in Woolies on Saturday 17th and saw two 16/17 year old lads (who were on the usual trip out to the precinct to pull girls!) browsing through the albums .

Thanks. Just did a bit of adding up: 23,262 sold over all three cds in one week.

That's not bad for a two year old album, a 7 month old album and a THIRD release single.

PLUS FC the album is no.1 on a download chart(sorry can't remember which one) so that means he gets dosh from that as well, and they are getting their own chart.
