2 more fan's questions answered:
Question -
If you never went into the music industry, what would be your ideal career?
Trev
Answer -
Conservation. Animal conservation, probably. I was really bad at biology though so I didn't make any steps towards it, but it would've given me another career
Question -
I was wondering what the significance was of the red balloon featured on the cover of your brilliant new album, Keep On? Is it anything to do with the French film of the same title?
Diz
Answer -
No, it's nothing to do with the French film. A lot of the photos were quite isolated photos, quite lonely photos, and I thought the balloon gave another twist on it because balloons are supposed to be fun and jolly and youthful. It's about the juxtaposition... it's a bit like being unhappy on Christmas Eve. Same idea. We shot it at the remnants of a party, it's two in the morning and you're still on your own.

I despair - thought the OS were improving, obviously did too much celebrating over Christmas because they can't get anything right! :wall: Those are his end of year awards - a huge difference!
Sure we had a Devoted thread somewhere of all Will's awards in 2005, will try & find it! :D Perhaps we should send it to them.

Exactly, let them know what is missing, maybe no one told the site
administrators, they can only update what they know about ;-)
There is a thread on the OS with all the awards so far in his entire career
but I doubt anyone has ever told them where to look :-P

Seems to be a recurring theme with Will :-( . Just like in the Happiness Dual Disc video - he's all on his own again at the end, and the Fridays Child one where everyone walks away from him.
I think it tells us a lot about the way he feels
As for the 'awards' pleeeeeease!

I seem to remember Will winning a Brit Award, too, this year. ;-)
They really are rubbish at the O/S. They should employ an admin person who is a fan and has a decent amount of interest in Will. 8-)
I'm loving Will's answer to the balloon question, though. Thanks for posting, Melle. :D

Maybe he feels people only like him when he's an entertainer, not for who he really is :-? That could explain a lot thinking about it.
He said on that Box programme that he likes playing characters and that no-one wants to see him on stage. Well, Will, we do actually :nod1: :D

He's an enigma really - on the one hand he lacks confidence in that he thinks he's boring as 'himself' and yet he is one of the most opinionated and bolshy people when the mood takes him. He intrigues me so much

Thanks Melle. I'm glad he answered the balloon question - it's a really interesting album cover.

That's quite a sad answer though  but I guess we all feel like that at times. I think it's good that he lets it out in his work, instead of keeping it in - it's much healthier.
He totally intrigues me too, Janet, he's such a fascinating person.

I think the awards are probably only meant to be a summary of the last couple of months. You can find a full list here (http://www.wyoung.co.uk/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=10377&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1)

He made me wonder too when he said (I can't remember the exact words) in the recent interview that a friend had told him that who you feel you are isn't necessarily who you really are. I really relate to that and I wonder whether there's some low self esteem behind those smiles. It's awfully difficult to get rid of bad feeling about yourself however much other people rate you or tell you they love you. Sometimes it's just an in situ part of your personality I think. I'm not saying this is true of Will just that I wonder it sometimes.
It's something that a lot of celebrities suffer from, I think, it can be something that gives them their drive to succeed, because they need to be loved to make up for whatever they feel they have lacked. I've also read somewhere that wearing hats is supposed to be a sign of insecurity.
Bless him! I'm sure that's all a load of tosh though. Will's okay. I don't think that any of us are completely together. It's interesting, though, how he explores these notions, shows how deep he is, and it's definitely very intriguing. I think in a way he's not unusual as a person, apart from his talent, but he's simply exploring the human condition with his work using himself as a model and it's fascinating stuff.

Had to pick up on this...when I was in my teens I wore hats
a lot and someone I had a great deal of respect for, told
me that it meant I was insecure...
I suppose I was,a bit,but so are many teenagers..
interesting to see that you read it somewhere :-)
As for Will and his hats,I have no idea...
perhaps he just likes them ;-)

But it's interesting that he hasn't been wearing them as much lately - since about the time Will told us that he's really happy now, perhaps he's been able to let out all that pent-up angst through his music and is finally able to relax and be himself in his personal and public life, all part of that new found confidence!

I love your live acoustic versions of songs, and wondered whether you've ever considered making an acoustic album?

Yeah, I think there might be actually. I love doing acoustic. I love the space: it allows you to sing. I think that's definitely a possibility
